A small area is required to set-up the equipment. If the event is held indoors, the area should be large enough to install 3 portable massage chairs. A closed office, an unused cubicle, or a staff room located in a quiet area and offering some level of privacy would be perfect. If the event is held outside, then, a space large enough to set up a 10×10 tent would be required. The tent provides enough space to house 3 therapists comfortably.
All the required equipment and supplies would be provided by Hampton Massage Therapy. The provision of a small table and a chair would be appreciated but is not necessary.
For fundraising events, a minimum of approximately 75 people in attendance is required. For non-fundraising events, a minimum of 12 clients per therapist is required. A sign-up sheet including timings and client’s name will be provided by Hampton Massage Therapy so that people can book in advance for their treatment.
The length of time of each massage depends on the types of event, and the expected number of participants. In general, massages are offered for 5, 10 or 15 minutes, and do no exceed 30 minutes per person. The event organizers will be required to inform Hampton Massage Therapy staff on their expectations with regard to length of time.
A minimum of one dollar per minute is requested from individuals who would like to receive a massage. Please note that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the charity. It is recommended to offer 5 minute appointments during large events, so that the service would be accessible to more people. For smaller events, the period of time could be increased to 10 or 15 minutes per treatment.
Two options are available if your organization is interested in having massage therapists present at a corporate event such as a team building, or a training/development day, or simply an employee appreciation day.
The employer or the entertainment committee pays for the massages in advance (most common option). The price and number of required clients per therapist are as follows: $20 for a 15 minute massage and a minimum of 12 employees per therapist; 15$ for a 10 minute massage and a minimum of 12 employees per therapist.
A maximum of 25 people per day over an 8.5 hour-period can be massaged. A deposit of $150 per therapist who will be working at the event is required, and should paid two weeks prior to the event.
Each client will pay for their own massage. The same rates and rules as above apply. The main difference is that an insurance receipt would be issued to each individual and the deposit would be returned to the organization at the end of the day.
